Sunday, October 22, 2006 -  Peak Week for Leaf Peekers

This weekend marks the last weekend for peak foliage in much of the Valley and southern Vermont. We spent Columbus Day weekend in Wardsboro, VT, where the leafing was spectaular. Of course, it didn't hurt that the weather was nearly perfect. Expect a lot of Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island license plates on I-91 this weekend.

Update...
While driving southbound on I-91 Friday evening, a line of bumper-to-bumper was seen trailing from exit 18 (Northampton, Rt. 5) practically the entire way to exit 17 in Connecticut. The line then continued almost the entire way down Rt. 15, extending to the edges of New York City. Crazy! I hope people saw some good leaves this weekend.
